Free shuttle from Burbank Airport
IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Marriott Room Blocks
The regular and concierge room blocks are full. Our best advice
- Call the Marriott directly at (818) 843-6000. Don't forget to
mention the group SCGS Conference. They will advise you of the most
current room availability and pricing. Cancellations sometimes occur, and you
might be lucky to get the Jamboree rate.
Consider sharing a room with a fellow genealogist. Check out the "Roommate Connection" information
Below is a list of some of the Lodging alternatives near the conference.

Jamboree offers a roommate matching service for those who wish to
reduce lodging expenses.
If you are interested in such an arrangement, please send an email to
and make sure you put Roommate Connection in the subject line.
Please include your name, dates of attendance, and tell us a little about
yourself (gender, late/early riser, party girl or robe-and-slippers type or
if you suffer from allergies). * Please not that this service does not
reserve rooms. It only puts like-minded attendees in touch who might be able
to share expenses.
Why not treat yourself and upgrade to Concierge Level?
The Burbank Marriott's Concierge Level, located in the East Tower,
offers Jamboree attendees both larger rooms than those in the hotel's West Tower
and the convenience of closer proximity to the Convention Center. Rooms are
available with one king or two double beds, and some connecting rooms are available
for those with larger parties, or those who like to party with others. Included
with all Concierge Level rooms is access to a private business center and turn
down service, if desired.
The Concierge Level comes with all-day access to the Concierge Lounge where
you can find fuel to help you stay in top form all day long. The lounge serves
breakfast daily until 9 am, hot and cold beverages and light munchies throughout
the day, hors d'oeuvres between 5 pm and 7 pm, and a dessert bar from 7 pm
to 9 pm. Although Jamboree gains no advantage if you book a concierge room,
we recommend these as a "good buy" both in terms of offsetting food
expenses, location, general amenities and convenience.
Rewards, Tips & Info:
If you're staying at the Marriott, here is some interesting news.
It seems that Marriott Rewards members get free "standard" Wi-Fi
in their rooms. You would need to make your reservation online, by phone
or in person at a Marriott or Ritz-Carlton hotel. (Reservations made through
AAA, Priceline or other booking website would not qualify.)
It takes just a moment to sign up for a Marriott Rewards membership,
it doesn't cost a cent, and you don't need to provide a credit card number.
Even if you stay at Marriott only once this year, at Jamboree, your Marriott
Rewards card can save you money.
Rewards here. Read about the Benefits
of Marriott Rewards. Marriott Rewards includes free wifi.
We have booked the entire convention center, as well as the meeting space in
the main hotel for the entire Jamboree weekend. We will also have 600 additional
seats in two Jamboree Pavilions located to the east of the Convention Center
Internet Options. Internet access in your room will be charged to your
room bill. The Marriott charges a daily rate (plus tax) for wired Internet,
which allows for only one device at a time. Please see the Marriotts website,
for updated information on Internet service that they offer.
Wifi is available throughout the common areas of the hotel and the meeting
rooms; however, the Marriott cannot guarantee a fast connection.
Renting a WiFi hotspot for the event may be more cost-effective. Jamboree
has worked with Travel
Entertainment iPad Rentals; mention that you learned about them from Jamboree.
The hotspot can be used by 3 to 5 people in the meeting rooms, exhibit hall
and lodging rooms. Neither Travel Entertainment iPads nor Jamboree can guarantee
a fast connection.
Conference Room Temperatures. The meeting room temperature can vary
from room to room and from hour to hour. The Marriott staff is very diligent
in trying to keep the temperatures comfortable, but it is all but impossible
to maintain consistent temperatures. We strongly suggest that you dress in layers
and bring a sweater in case you happen to find yourself in a cooler room.
Disability Access. All conference rooms are disability-accessible and
are located on one floor. The hotel has a limited number of parking slots for
disabled. We will have an additional (the first row directly to the east of
the Convention Center) reserved for parking for the disabled.
The Marriott is a smoke-free facility. No smoking is allowed
within the conference center or the hotel facilities.
Food - printable
pdf list of area restuarants
At the Marriott: Sandwiches, beverages, salads, soft drinks and snacks
will be available at the Day Bar in the main hotel. Convention Center concession
sales will be available Thursday - Sunday on the Green. Full restaurant service
is available in the Daily Grill. Guests of the Marriott can order room service
and retreat to their rooms for some peace and quiet.
Within Walking Distance: If you're in the mood for a stretch break
and a quick bite, you're in luck. The food court across the street offers a
variety of quick meals, including McDonald's, Del Taco, Denny's, Subway, Panda
Express, SanSai Japanese Restaurant, and a Greek restaurant. It's about a one-block
walk from the Marriott - just enough to stretch your legs during the lunch break.
Within Driving Distance: The Burbank
Town Center is just minutes away.
Parking - Marriott and the Marriott parking
Enter the Marriott parking lot from Thornton Avenue. There
is a Bank of America lot located just to the north of the Marriott that is closed
to our use at all times. We have negotiated a discounted rate of $16 per
day for parking in the Marriott lot for the duration of the conference. Valet
parking is available at $27 per day.
There is a 10-minute drop-off time, so if a driver is dropping off someone at
the Marriott and then leaving, they will not need to pay for parking within
the first 10 minutes.
Overnight guests of the Marriott enjoy in-and-out privileges, and parking
charges can be added to your hotel bill for your convenience. The Marriott registration
desk will code your room keycard to use to go in and out of the parking lot.
Daily parkers not staying overnight do not have in-and-out privileges.
Commuters can pay the attendant for parking at the kiosk inside the convention
center. Attendant hours will be posted at Jamboree.
Handicapped parking is available north of the Convention Center.
In the event the Marriott lot becomes full, parking will be available
in Airport Economy Lot C directly across from the Marriott lot. The Jamboree rate for parking at Lot C is $13.00 per day.
If both the Marriott and Lot C fill up, Airport Parking Lot A on the west
side of Hollywood Way 1/5 mile north of Thornton Avenue will also be available
for $10 per day. Finally, Lot D (Star Park) directly across Hollywood Way from
the Marriott will be available for public use. The price for parking at Lot
D can go up to $23 for the day. Printable
